St. Lawrence Market

Escaping the foul air in Toronto yesterday, I went into St. Lawrence Market right as it opened at 9 a.m. It’s interesting to photograph when it’s empty.

All images taken with my Sony a6100 body and 7Artisans 10mm f/3,5 lens.

Reflection

I saw an ad in the front of an eyeglasses store on the Danforth here in Toronto, and with the reflections to me it told a different story.

Shooting With a Cookie

It’s fun to go out from time to time with my “Oreo Cookie” lens. A single element, fixed focus lens reclaimed from a single-use camera. With a lens like this, you aren’t shooting for technical quality; you are shooting for fun.

These are images of downtown Toronto yesterday, using hte cookie lens on my Sony a6100.

Dragon Boat Racing Photography with Bad Lenses

Photographing the Dragon Boat races at the Islands this past Saturday morning. I do not have a modern long telephoto lens, and was forced to use an old 200mm Pentax lens, and an old craptastic Spiratone 500mm f/8 mirror telephoto lens. Both manually focused.

My focus hit rate was not good, lol.

Surrounded by Books

Today I checked out the largest secondhand bookstore I have ever been in, in Amherst, Nova Scotia. One image cannot capture the size. It was huge but felt cramped at the same time!

Amherst, Nova Scotia, Imagined Differerently

I am on a trip in Nova Scotia, and yestreday was a very sunny afternoon in Amherst. Not a lot of people out and about (compared to what I am used to) and I ended up creating a surreal look. The colours in this image were inspired by Lomo Turquoise film.
