The Sakura Cherry Blossom event in Toronto tends to be hit or miss, based on the weather. In 2016 for example it was pretty much a bust. This year however the blossoms were in full view. In a sea of smartphones, DSLR’s and selfie sticks it was fun shooting black and white with a rangefinder.

I was out a few days ago with my Kodak Medalist I camera in nearby Taylor Creek Park, shooting one of my favourite bridges. I noticed in the distance a woman wearing the hijab out walking, and suddenly to my eyes the scene was no longer about the bridge but about solitude and anonymity.
