Last Saturday morning I was back in the Beaches area, near the R.H. Harris plant. I have shot there many times before, but this was the first time I took my new Voigtlander Superwide 15mm lens, and also the first time I shot Eastman Double-X black and white film with a read filter. Really happy with the results in these images!

A few years ago I traded away a Voigtlander 15mm/f4.5 Superwide Heliar as part of a deal. It was a good trade, but I recently felt a pining for that super wide focal length, so I bought a newer version of the lens (M-mount vs LTM, and it takes filters). I tried it out for the first time last Saturday at High Park, Toronto.

The Hasselblad does not have a reputation as a great camera for available light shooting, and this portrait shot indoors on Ilford XP2 film is not technically perfect, but I like the expression.

Sunday, April 28th was Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. It was a brilliantly sunny (if cold) day, and to celebrate some of the local film community met up in Burlington for a photowalk. Using the same 120 format pinhole camera I got recently I got the same unpredictable results. Pinhole photography in my opinion is a state of mind as much as it is a specific kind of gear.

Another pinhole image today; it was a gloomy day in Taylor Creek Park when I shot this, and a ten second exposure was required.

I recently bought a medium format (6×6) pinhole camera with the equivalent of a 30mm f150 lens, in preparation for World Pinhole photography Day on April 28th. I shot a test roll and I’m happy to report its working well.
