Atlas Mine #2

Another image from the Atlas Coal Mine near Drumheller, Alberta. I am really liking the combination of the Rollei APX 25 film and Rodinal Developer 🙂

  1. Quite beautiful!
Hi, please be so kind and tell me about your processing: APX 25, Rodinal 1:25 (?) 12 Minutes (?) Is this a small tank (like a Jobo) and how do you agitate? I have tried APX 25 (120 film) with Rodinal 1:100 semi -Stand (see: http://rlfsoso.tumblr.com/post/107139336126/ice-castle-29-12-2014-believeinfilm-the ) and found it quite hard…
I have some more rolls in my freezer and wonder about how to get the best out of them. R.

    1. Thanks!

I was developing in a stainless steel tank, and as I was also doing a roll of 120 at the same time I had about 800 ml of solution. For agitation I go gently with Rodinal: first 60 seconds, then 5 gentle inversions each minute thereafter. RPX 25 is inherently contrasty of course but I have found with my scanner there is detail to be had. 🙂

      1. Hi John,
thank you for the information! I will try next time RPX find its’ way from my freezer into my Zenza Bronica ETRSi (645) or Mamiya RB 67 Pro S (struggling with film transport issues with the latter one)…
