I liked the look of what appeared to be a roughly made chair by the water’s edge; in the stark morning light it looked like a marker or monument of some kind.

On Sunday I had another shoot with Naima, this time outdoors on a decidedly chilly day, in the ravine near Yonge and St. Clair. Naima was a real trooper and did not let the cold get in the way of a great shoot.

As much as I love the natural splender of Banff, from an architectural point of view, the Banff Springs hotel is quite something. This glass-walled room in particular is incredible!

One of image from Taylor Creek, on the roll of Tri-X pushed to EI 3200. Again I am suprised at how little grain is apparent, although the subject matter probably helps!

semi-stand (gentle agitation every 30 minutes, initial one minute agitation)
I have shot this scene before (an alley in Toronto’s Kensington Market), but it has a very different look in black and white, with a very wide angle lens.

From my steampunk shoot with talented author Rebecca Diem who has just published The Stowaway Debutante, a fun steampunk read. I had the idea for the prop (the world’s oldest camera-phone? 🙂 ) some time ago, and this shoot was the perfect time to use it!

Yesterday morning I was taking some images of the stairs that lead to pedestrian bridge over the DVP in Riverdale. I was trying to get the focus just right (not always easy with my middle-aged eyes) and at the last moment a figure arrived in the frame. An accident, but I like the result.
