A Lonely Stone

I was at the St. James Cemetery this past Sunday morning, testing out a Zorki 4 (a Soviet era rangefinder) with an Industar-22 lens. The cemetery is a mature one, fairly full, but there is this one stone alone, isolated. I wonder why?

Another Image with the Kiev and Jupiter 12

In Taylor Creek Park there is a lot of interesting fallen wood, almost like driftwood writ large, but there is no lake or ocean around. This log has caught my eye on more than one occasion.

Another from Yonge/Summerhill

If I ever need to do a Steampunk group shot, I think this would be the location! (The old train station, now a liquor store near Yonge/Summerhill in Toronto.

Tree Stump

This image of a lonely tree stump was taken in  Taylor Creek Park, using a Voigtlander Bessa L 35mm camera and 15mm/4.5 Heliar super wide angle lens. I loved the textures at this spot!.

Mountains

I was lucky enough to be in Banff for meetings this past week, and I had a bit of time for some photography. The views from the Banff Springs Hotel are incredible.

Reflections

Old architecture reflected by a modern building. I love the distortions.

Behind Bars

Photograph from recent Open Streets Day in Toronto. The title “Behind Bars” comes from a question as to whether we are urban prisoners in Toronto, slaves to the gods of endless construction.

Grace II: Character

In this post, while Grace is amazing in showing character in her posing/expression, I am actually going to talk about the character of a film I have tried for the first time: Svema Foto 200 film, made in the Ukraine, and available from The Film Photography Project. What I like about this film is the grain structure: it’s not fine grain, but it is organic, it just feels right, and it has a lovely tonality! Now if I could only get it in 100 foot bulk rolls!
