Garden Ruins

Yesterday morning I was with photography friends in Rosetta McClain Gardens in Scarborough, Ontario. The light from an approaching rain storm was gloomy and ominous. Utterly amazing light.

I though this image of a ruined cottage on site (taken with my lomo “Cookie” lens) would work well with a pictorial treatment.

The “Oreo Cookie” Lens

I finally broke down and bought what people are calling the “Oreo Cookie” lens. (So-called because the front of the lens is designed to look like and Oreo cookie.) The lens is fixed focus, all plastic, very inexpensive, and supposedly is reclaimed from disposable single-use cameras. So we are talking very primitive. But that is what makes it fun! I tried it out yesterday for the first time at a outdoor craft fair in the Beaches here in Toronto on my Sony a7ii.
