Inside the Gazebo

Two film images from inside a gazebo in Niagara-On-the-Lake this past weekend. Both taken with Voigtlander Bessa R2M camera, 35mm/f2.5 Color Skopar lens on Rollei SuperPan 200 film

Another Gazebo shot

Yes, I like shooting gazebos! They have such an interesting geometry about them that I can’t resist, and there is no 12 step program for this particular architectural fetish 🙂

I’m also spending more time shooting large format, and enjoying the slower, more thoughtful process.

Something Slightly Different

This image is from our trip to Niagara On the Lake this past weekend. It was a gazebo, so I had to shoot it, but to me the woman stretching out in front gives the image a slightly different, almost surreal aspect; it would be a very different image without her.

In Miniature

I was out shooting at the Beaches yesterday. and one of the lens I was using was the Lensbaby Composer with the Double-Glass optic. The narrow “sweet spot” of focus in the middle results in a miniature effect, to my eyes at least. In actuality I was at least 40 yards away from the gazebo.
