Not About the Image
It was an intense week at work here in Calgary, to put it mildly. Since I am staying over and working again here next week, my original plan this morning was to go to downtown Calgary and do some street / architecture photography. At the last minute I changed my mind and went for a return visit to Fish Creek Provincial Park, and that was the right decision: a beautiful morning in a quiet park, the only sounds being the birds and the flowing water. Yes I took some photos (Hipstamatic here, film to follow when I get back home) but that didn’t seem to be the point this morning. Relaxing and decompressing was.
Bridge in Enmax Park, Calgary.
This bridge in Enmax Park in Calgary caught my eye during my last trip out here. The fact it is painted a light colour increases the contrast against a sky darkened by the use of a red filter.
Both images created with my Voigtlander Bessa R2M,
35mm/f2.5 Color Skopar lens with red filter.

Posting Daily
I am out in Calgary again this week, and am shooting some film photography but of course without access to my darkroom it’s hard to post those images just yet, so I am trying to keep the daily posting discipline going with some smartphone/Hipstamatic images, such as today’s image taken outside my Calgary office early on a bright sunny day.
Another Fish Creek Image
Work has made it a challenge to blog for a few days, but hoping to change that! In the meantime, another image from Fish Creek Provincial Park in Calgary. Considering how sunny and comparatively warm it was there this past week, it’s hard to believe it was this cold and wintery just a few weeks ago.
