According to the calendar, we have a few more days of summer left, but the end of the season is near. I was at the Beaches last night, and the weather was lovely, the atmosphere peaceful, but to me tinged with a wistfulness, an awareness of the passing of time.

On the night of the Nice attacks, Janice and I went for a walk on the Boardwalk on the Beaches. I had left my phone at home by mistake and since I use it for a meter the exposure was an estimate but I got it. With so much darkness these days, it was nice to capture some of the brighter side of humanity.

There of are photographer friends of mine who are absolutely fearless when it comes to asking strangers if they can take their photograph. I find that very difficult and have to force myself to do it. When I saw this gentlemen near the boardwalk in the Beaches I had to ask if I could take his picture, and the answer was yes. 🙂
