Not About the Image

It was an intense week at work here in Calgary, to put it mildly. Since I am staying over and working again here next week, my original plan this morning was to go to downtown Calgary and do some street / architecture photography. At the last minute I changed my mind and went for a return visit to Fish Creek Provincial Park, and that was the right decision: a beautiful morning in a quiet park, the only sounds being the birds and the flowing water. Yes I took some photos (Hipstamatic here, film to follow when I get back home) but that didn’t seem to be the point this morning. Relaxing and decompressing was.

Bridge in Enmax Park, Calgary.

This bridge in Enmax Park in Calgary caught my eye during my last trip out here. The fact it is painted a light colour increases the contrast against a sky darkened by the use of a red filter.

Both images created with my Voigtlander Bessa R2M,
35mm/f2.5 Color Skopar lens with red filter.

Sunlight in Oakville

Last weekend I met up with my friend Bill Smith in Oakville on the way to a Classic Camera Revival recording session. It was a brilliantly sunny morning, and the look of this building in the bright sun caught my eye.
