It was a bright but chilly morning here in Toronto on January 1st. I was out with photography friends on a walk that included the University of Toronto campus. I liked the look of the clouds and the steam from the smokestack.
Christmas is often all about colour, but these images of the interior of the Royal York Hotel decked out for Christmas felt better in black and white. Like glittering snow at night.
Both images were taken with my Sony a7ii and 28-75mm f/2.8 Tamron lens.
A nasty cold/flu bug has severely curtailed my shooting and posting recently, but I did get out this past Friday to Allan Gardens here in Toronto, shooting with my Sony a7ii and new TTArtisan 75mm f/1.5 lens. This lens will take some learning, but I love the look!
At the Beaches this morning; snow added a frosting of atmosphere.
All images taken with my Sony a7ii and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens. Both the carea and the lens have good weather sealing, so they are my go to combo on a day like today.
The first of likely a few holiday-themed posts. We got our Christmas lights put up the other day, and I decided to di out one of my old cross-star filters to get a retro-cheesy look, and I was quite happy with what I got. I used my Sony a6100 and TTArtisan 50mm f/1.2 lens, with the filter.
I was walking down this street this morning and saw that someone had put out a bunch of stuff on their lawn for anyone who wanted it. My eye was taken by these metallic birds; they will have a place in at least one macro project!
There is an interesting reflective wall inside the Coxwell subway station here in Toronto. I positioned myself to appear four times in one image, due to the distortions.
