Weather and Architecture

I liked this structure in Vancouver; it seemed to go with the cloudy/drizzly day.

Against the Fall Colours

November 26, 2016 · Leave a comment ·

Back to fall colours in Toronto, although what struck me about this scene was the monochromatic tree branches looking almost metallic against a background of colour.

Stanley Park #2: The Shore

November 25, 2016November 25, 2016 · 2 Comments ·

For my second Stanley Park image I go to the shore; my eyes were instantly drawn to this magnificent jumble

Woodgrain

I loved the wood grain on the various pieces of Haida art at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC in Vancouver.

Early Leaves

Leaves that changed too soon, but still had a glorious blaze. Recent events are imposing a symbolism over everything for me recently.

The End of a Season

November 22, 2016November 19, 2016 · Leave a comment ·

Vancouver in November is definitely off-season. I wouldn’t call the feeling a malaise, just a sense that the party is over.

Bridge in Vancouver

We did not see a lot of the sun in Vancouver when we were out there, but when it did sort of peek out from time to time it was lovely.

Chinese Garden in Black and White

November 20, 2016November 19, 2016 · Leave a comment ·

Another image of the Chinese Garden in Vancouver, this time in black and white. As mentioned in yesterday’s post it was getting dark quickly, and the Hasselblad is not known for being hand-holdable at slow speeds.

Another image of the Chinese Garden in Vancouver. It was getting dark very quickly by this time of the day.
