A number of weeks ago I went to St. James cemetery with my Canon P rangefinder and Voigtlander 15mm/4.5 Superwide Heliar lens. The camera was loaded with Cinestill 50D film. The lighting was suitably gloomy.
The World of a Child
As I have said before, I don’t often get to create portraits of children, but this past weekend I had the chance to do so with the daughter of a friend in Calgary. My eight year old subject was engaging and enthusiastic, allowing me into her world, and certainly had an interest in the old camera I was using.

Framed
I love images that have interior frames. This image is from the Chinese Garden in Vancouver. It was not a bright afternoon and I did not have a tripod with me to get the smaller aperture/slower shutter speed and larger depth of field I would have preferred for the colour film shot. I took the black and white retro-styled image with my iPhone and the Hipstamatic app.
