Sugar Beach in Toronto (named for being right next to a Sugar plant by Lake Ontario) has always seemed rather surrealistic, and it seemed especially so yesterday morning. Snow covered, under an overcast sky.

This past Saturday morning while out on the Toronto Photography Walks latest outing I saw a couple of spots with metal objects sticking out of the snow that I found interesting.
A few days ago I was out on a photo walk with friends at the University of Toronto. It was a cold winter day so we did most of our shooting indoors. Here are the first two images
I was at a coffee shop yesterday (for a photo print exchange event as it was), and this person was sitting near a window, and the light was perfect. The goalie mask in the background was a problem. I ended up with an “Alas, poor Yorik” moment.
I normally tend to black and white imagery, but this morning the intense blues and oranges of the crosswalk at about 6:45 am really struck me. Also, there was no traffic so I was able to stand in the middle of the road to quickly get the shot with my iPhone.
I was at Hart House at the University of Toronto this morning, and found this long table.
I was walking on the street last night and saw some interesting lighting in a closed hair salon, so out came the iPhone!
On top of the Bridgepoint Healthcare Centre in Toronto on a bright but chilly day recently. The outdoor patio was not open but I was able to get the shot through the window
This image taken in a TTC subway station is about a year and a half old, but given current circumstances I think it fits well from a symbolic point of view. We are in a dark descent.
