Night Street

The first of a few more images of Toronto at night, shot on Tri-X, pushed to EI 3200.

Keep Out

I have walked past this private club near the St. George subway station hundreds of times. I have been inside once (for a wedding reception). To me, this location positively screams “Keep Out!”

Something New

Recently the new walkway over Queen Street between the Eaton Centre and Hudson’s Bay opened. Given what is happening to Bricks and Mortar retail it seems like a bridge between two dinosaurs, but I do like the look if it, compared to its dull and dingy predecessor.

Above the Subway

I’ve always found the outdoor/above ground subway stations in Toronto fascinating, especially ones (like Rosedale station below) on the oldest part of what is now called Line 1.

Taming Contrast

Adox CMS 20 II is basically a high contrast ultra fine grain microfilm stock that can be used as a continuous tone film when developed with special developers. The main developer for this film (Adotech) tends to be expensive so photographers are always looking for other options. In this case I tried Rollei RLC Low contrast developer, itself not cheap but I had some around. It was a very bright day, almost unfair for this film but I did get some usable images.
