More Mist

One more from the Beaches last Saturday. The steam rising off the still water was really quite something!

The View

The light down at the Beaches yesterday morning was incredible, as was the scene. Very cold, but dead calm, allowing the gathering of mist on the water. This man was excited by the scene, as he raced from spot to spot capturing the moment on his smartphone. Different gear, but a kindred spirit.

Taylor Creek

Taylor Creek this morning was a creek on the verge: on the verge of melting and on the verge of freezing at the same time. Add some reflections and some wood and it really caught my eye.

Forgotten Frames

I had no idea what was on the roll of film this image came from when I developed it. I do like the complicated light in this image.

Two Arches

It was a very bright day in downtown Toronto today, and the low midwinter sun made for start, dramatic lighting. I loved how the sun was hitting the front arch in this space on the Esplanade.

The First Day of the Year

I have made it a tradition the last few years to go out camera in hand on the morning of January 1st, regardless of the weather. This year was grey and cool for most of the day, but I still went down to the Beaches in the morning, with my Nikon F2 and three lenses. This image was taken with my 50mm/1.4 lens, on TMax 400 film.

2016 Jan 2 meetup018

The F2 is one of my cameras that doesn’t get used as much as it should as, and I have more than a couple of cameras in that category, so one of my photography goals for 2016 is, no buying of cameras or lenses (repair/replacement excepted, as needed)! Time to use more of what I have.
