Empty Tracks

All the while there is talk but little action on transit in Toronto.

Ageless

For this image of mature trees in High Park, I used my Canon P rangefinder from the early 1960’s, my Canon Serenar 50mm/1.8 lens from 1951, and developed the Tri-X film I used in Pyrocat-HD, a developer based on a 100+ year old formulation. Β For something as ageless as a forest it seemed appropriate. πŸ™‚

Back to the Atlas Coal Mine

I just seem to keep coming back to my images from this location! There was certainly a lot to shoot. πŸ™‚ Both images were created with my Voigtlander Bessa R Rangefinder with 15mm/4.5 Super-Heliar lens, on Rollei RPX 25 film, developed in Rodinal.

Setting Up for a Hot Day

It was about 9 am this past Sunday at the Beaches, with the promise of a very hot day already playing out. The Beach Volleyball players were already beginning to appear.

A Man And His Dog

Shooting with a very wide angle lens, it can be difficult to keep people out of the frame sometimes, so you go with the flow, and in this image from the Beaches this past Sunday, as it turned out I quite liking having the man and his dog in the image.

The Park In the Evening

Taylor Creek Park (close to home in Toronto) is so lovely on an early summer evening πŸ™‚

View From the Balcony

I meant to post this image from our Scotland trip and didn’t get around to it until now. The sky cooperated on the morning I took this image of the Scottish coast!

Post 750: Thinking About Time

This post marks the 750th entry in my photography blog, and three-quarters of the way to one thousand has a nice, significant sounding number to it. While I on occasion may wistfully dream of more traffic to my blog, I immediately rebuke myself; it’s not the most important thing. It’s about creating a body of work that I can very occasionally feel proud of (although I’m always only one bad roll of film away from scorning myself as a photographer but that’s another issue.)

Today’s image was taken at the Ring of Brodgar, a stone circle located in the Orkney islands in Scotland. Older than Stonehenge, this place makes you think about time and permanence.

Interior Spaces

I love larger interior spaces, like these spaces in the art gallery we visited in Glasgow. all images taken with Voigtlander Bessa R Rangefinder, 15mm/4,5 Superwide Heliar lens.

Outside the Gallery

As part of our recent trip to Scotland we spent a day in Glasgow, and the city looked more interesting than I expected! We had a couple of hours at an art gallery, whose exterior I found quite interesting.
