Hiding in Wait

Another image from Hamilton: this time, it’s a GO train, and to me with its green matching the trees, it seemed like a creature hiding, waiting to pounce.

Morning Light

From my recent weekend in Hamilton. Walking around the downtown core around 8 am I loved seeing how the morning light lit up old buildings such as this one.

A Colourful City

Hamilton, Ontario is still saddled (unfairly in my opinion) with the reputation of being a gritty and unattractive city. I think the opposite is true: it is a city of fascinating architecture and splashes of colour, even in the most mundane items.

“The Person I Want to Be”

Today’s post is about three photos and two good friends, at this past weekend’s MMPR meetup in Hamilton, Ontario. The first image is Bob Goyetche in mid laugh (and there was a lot of laughing last weekend!). The second and third photos are of my good friend Ken Bole. When Ken saw the second portrait he said “I look like the person I want to be.”

This just might be the nicest comment I’ve ever received for one of my portraits.

Royal Botanical Gardens

From my recent trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens. I loved the look of this raised wooden walkway as it wound its way through a forest.

My 1000th Post

This post is the 1000th on my photo blog since its inception, so I wanted to pick an image that fit the occasion. This image from recent day in Banff works for me: it reminds me that photography is a journey as much as a destination, and that the destination will always be partially hidden, awaiting discovery.
