Quarry Lake Park in Colour

I am still primarily and black and white shooter, but when I was in Quarry Lake Park in Canmore recently I was happy to have had a roll of Kodak Ektar 100 colour film with me. It was the perfect morning for it.

The Right Time In the Morning

Another image at Quarry Lake Park, near Canmore Alberta. This was around 8 or 8:30 in the morning, and I love the sharp angled dram of morning light; it is my favourite light of the day. The shadows from the stones in the foreground caught my eye

In Quarry Lake Park

Another image from the Canmore, Alberta area. I do like the combination of Ilford FP4+ film and Rodinal developer in medium format;  I need to shoot that more!

Ice Formations

The pattern of the waves made for some interesting ice formations by the water at the Scarborough bluffs. The spray would come up through the holes every time the wave hit the shore.

Almost Into the Sun

My 50mm/f4 Zeiss Distagon lens is one of my favourites, and it continues to surprise me.  I wasn’t quite pointing at the sun in the image from the Scarborough Bluff’s on New Year’s Day, but it was certainly in the sun’s direction. Flare is not an issue at all. (Of course having a lens hood on the lens helps).
