This post is the 1000th on my photo blog since its inception, so I wanted to pick an image that fit the occasion. This image from recent day in Banff works for me: it reminds me that photography is a journey as much as a destination, and that the destination will always be partially hidden, awaiting discovery.

There will be a few posts on Banff over the next few days. The first focuses on some black and white images, all taken on Ilford HP5+ film, using my Hasselblad 500C/M camera.
Recently while on my most recent business trip to Lethbridge, Alberta I went back to the Japanese Garden, this time with my Hasselblad 500C/M. It is a lovely spot, an oasis of calm.
The Hasseblad shoots twelve images per roll, and so I’ve decided to post one complete roll here; it’s rare that I am happy with all the images on a single roll. This film in this case is Kodak Portra 400.
I have seen this busker on the Boardwalk before.
