High Park Solitude

This spot in High Park (specifically the bridge) has to be one of the most popular wedding photography spots in the city, but I like the look of it when there are no people in frame, like on a hazy day recently.

By the Shore

I believe these are birdhouses by the shores of the pond in High Park, but part of me can’t help imagining they are letter boxes, with the letter carrier delivering mail by canoe. 🙂

A New View of an Old Tree

I have shot this tree in High Park a few times over the years, but this was the first time using my Hasselblad (and the 150mm/4 Sonnar lens, on Rollei Retro 80s film). I love the look of this tree (as do a lot of other visitors, you definitely have to wait your turn and time it right to get an unobstructed image!)

Also, this week’s MPP podcast is out. I geek out about my Rolleiflex

A Change In Plans

On Sunday I went to High Park to do some shooting that required a bright sunny sky. I didn’t get the sky I wanted, so I switched gears and went into one of the forest trails, where the light was deep and moody.

Being Seen

On a very hot Saturday I met up with a bunch of film photography friends, and we ended up at the Beaches. I find it interesting that while the human didn’t notice me taking the image, the dog certainly noticed me!

Portrait at the Workshop

At the wet plate workshop I attended last weekend in Michigan. I took a “time-out” to take a conventional film portrait of the partnwe of the woman giving the workshop.

Royal Botanical Gardens

From my recent trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens. I loved the look of this raised wooden walkway as it wound its way through a forest.
