It was an intense week at work here in Calgary, to put it mildly. Since I am staying over and working again here next week, my original plan this morning was to go to downtown Calgary and do some street / architecture photography. At the last minute I changed my mind and went for a return visit to Fish Creek Provincial Park, and that was the right decision: a beautiful morning in a quiet park, the only sounds being the birds and the flowing water. Yes I took some photos (Hipstamatic here, film to follow when I get back home) but that didn’t seem to be the point this morning. Relaxing and decompressing was.

Posting Daily
I am out in Calgary again this week, and am shooting some film photography but of course without access to my darkroom it’s hard to post those images just yet, so I am trying to keep the daily posting discipline going with some smartphone/Hipstamatic images, such as today’s image taken outside my Calgary office early on a bright sunny day.
Just Be Cooking
On Monday night I was shooting my good friend Maria Rozynska as she taught a group class in how to make perogies for her new Just Be Cooking business. I know Maria from musical theatre and we both agreed that leading a class like this is like putting on a performance, and she did a fine job!

Through the Window
The first of likely a few posts from Whistler (once I develop my film this weekend). I was at a meeting this past week in Whistler, B.C. I had an amazing view from my hotel window, and took more than a couple of images at various times of today in various lighting conditions. Winter light to my eyes often has a pewter-like tone, like it did when I took this image.
