Today a portrait of my friend and fellow podcaster Mike, taken in a pub using my Pentax ME 35mm camera. I haven’t used this camera much recently but got it out for the April episode of the Classic Camera Revival podcast, where Pentax was the topic of the day. The lens was a 50mm/1.7 and I was shooting wide-open on Tri-X film.

Improvise
When I was in Whistler last week I did not bring a tripod, so when I saw the night scene from my hotel window I had to improvise. A side table, and a couple of books were pressed into service as a makeshift tripod, and luckily I did have my cable release with me, so I was able to complete the 45 second exposure with little or no camera shake. Shooting through the window did make for some weird reflections though.
