A Cold Night

It was a very cold night in the Distillery District recently, but it was still fun doing some available light photography.

Wide Angle Portrait

I tend to avoid wide-angle lenses for portraits; they tend not to be very flattering. The angle and distance from the subject in this portrait (my friend, and fellow photographer and podcaster Alex Luyckx) made it work. The light of an overcast day coming through the window was amazing.

Night Shooting

The great thing about wide angle lenses is there ability to be handheld at slower shutter speeds, like the 1/15th of a second used for this image taken recently in the Beaches.

Empty Spaces

I have always been drawn to spaces meant for crowds when there aren’t a lot of people around. At certain points during the day this hall in Union Station in Toronto would be much busier.
