Stones

Another image from Wreck Beach. There are many sections of the Beach which are covered in large rocks. I felt any any moment I would trip and fall, resulting in a broken ankle and/or smashed camera. Luckily neither happened 🙂

On a Sad Day

This sculpture is on English Bay Beach, Vancouver. I shot the roll with this image the day I found out my friend Bob Goyetche had passed away, but I only developed it this week. I was numbed and in shock that morning (like a lot of people that day). I feel the tragedy of that day imposed a symbolism on everything I saw.

Late Fall Portrait

This past weekend I created some portraits of my friend John Russell in Taylor Creek Park. He noticed some tree trunks had been carved at one end, and so we worked it into some of the images.

The World of a Child # 2

Another image from my shoot last Saturday. This image was taken with my Nikon F4S and the Nikkor 105mm/2.5 lens, which is one of the greatest portrait lenses of all time.

The World of a Child

As I have said before, I don’t often get to create portraits of children, but this past weekend I had the chance to do so with the daughter of a friend in Calgary. My eight year old subject was engaging and enthusiastic, allowing me into her world, and certainly had an interest in the old camera I was using.

Different Light

The last time I had the chance to shoot the Peace Bridge in Calgary it was a grey, drizzly day. Last Sunday morning I lucked out and the low-angled late fall sun made for some great lighting.
